We've actually had a version of this on Tumblr for awhile, though I don't think many of them are active anymore: the ScriptX family. I've used some of those blogs as quick general reference and also links to other resources.
if you’re white and wanna write a poc character and feel awkward about it i implore you to ignore any twitblr stuff treating it as a massive ethical burden and instead come in more with the same mindset you’d have if you wanted to write about idk firefighters but didn’t know anything about firefighters so you do... research. Like fuck off with the weird kinda creepy calls for spiritual introspection you’re not writing about god damn space aliens you’re writing about humans and if you think you need more perspective of different life experiences just read?

I saw that ScriptEconomist is no longer being updated, so do you know of any other economics blogs where I could ask a knowledgeable person about the feasibility of my fictional economic system?
So first - thank you so much for sending this in, because I just realized I hadn’t slid it down on the ScriptX Family page to the Archived section, woops! Fixed. Because you are correct, the blog is Archived now.Unfortunately I don’t know much about economics or economics blogs outside of that. All I can suggest is:1.) Peruse the archive of @scripteconomist to see if you can find something applicable, which may help anyway?
2.) Depending on the question, the folks at other ScriptX blogs such as @script-a-world or even @scriptsociology MIGHT be able to help? The reason I suggest Script-a-world is that you’re looking at this for worldbuilding purposes, and their blog is designed to help with making overall fictional worlds more plausible, so they might have some ideas depending on what you need that fictional economic system to do in-story.
The reason I suggest ScriptSociology, is that Sociology as a field includes studying complex aspects of human culture and how they impact groups of people within them, and while it’s not the same as full-on economics, it by necessity can definitely include the impact of economic changes or the consequences of some aspects of economic systems, which is honestly the most important part of working with an ‘economic system’ in a worldbuilding sense anyway, I would think. Examples of this include how poverty levels or class divisions might shake out in terms of large-scale effects on actual people (I think they had a post on how street gangs in America originally formed as a way to ‘protect’ neighborhoods that were mostly ethnic enclaves, which presumably had less consistent access to reliable/non-abusive law enforcement due to poverty and class division, for an example of what doesn’t LOOK like it includes economics but technically does? At least that’s how I recall the post, but it’s been a while and I don’t have time to hunt for it >_>), or - There’s also how economic prosperity or pressure influences where people move to or from; e.g. how most major cities have historically developed along a waterfront due to resource access and/or trade access (Los Angeles for instance could not possibly exist as far inland in a desert like it does, without the massive man-made infrastructure that was installed that draws water to the area; but NYC existed before modern plumbing was really a thing, and became one of the early trade hubs with Europe and elsewhere because it’s in a region that connects to the ocean and several rivers; Chicago is near major water sources and lies between many other places that it engages in trade with too, etc.). That could be a question posed to either blog, I think, though the perspectives on it and the depth of information will likely be different and it’s probably better-aimed at ScriptSociology in particular? At a guess.3.) You could try browsing the Economics tag or Worldbuilding tag on tumblr?4.) Finally, I will open this up as a question to our followers to see if they have suggestions? Remember to check the notes in case we have a viable suggestion given! Good luck with your worldbuilding!-Mod Vorpalgirl(Feeling generous? You can click here to Buy Me A Coffee!)

Introducing ScriptPublishingIndustry!
We’re here to help you write characters who are in the publishing industry, from writers to editors to book bloggers. While we can’t help you get published, we can help make your characters more realistic!
A couple of things to keep in mind…
Every book’s journey is different! Some authors spend years with their manuscripts going from one slush pile to another before they get published. Others are discovered and courted without the author ever going near a query letter. Some books are a collective work, with multiple editors, proofreaders, artists, and marketing specialists all collaborating. Others are a solitary work, with one author who also edits, self-publishes, and handles all their own marketing.
The more detailed your question, the more detailed and accurate a response we can provide. Feel free to send us multiple asks if necessary.
We’re looking for mods. If you’re in the industry and are interested in helping us advise writers, drop us a line! We’re especially interested in people working with big-name publishers, self-published authors (Kindle Direct or other), people working in magazines and non-fiction, marketing experts, and artists/cover designers.
Please note: If you ask us a question off anon, we can ask you follow up to make sure we give you the most information possible.

Ten writeblrs you recommend, go!
EASY
@pens-swords-stuff - a pillar of writeblr. great advice posts, very sweet and friendly, and her AMA posts for AAPI month are helpful, too!
@homesteadchronicles - I have no idea if Jake is still around tumblr, but he's a dear friend and runs a bangin' Discord server for creatives of all kinds.
@cwritesfiction and @byjillianmaria were two of my first friends here on writeblr and I'll never forget them
@brynwrites isn't active as much anymore, focusing on Twitter and email blasts, but I still remember the days when Our Bloody Pearl had a chokehold on my lil corner of writeblr (as it should).
@thebibliosphere is the only reason I've ever considered making an Ao3 account, and Hunger Pangs will blow you away.
@ratracechronicler has so many projects that you're pretty much guaranteed to find something you'll like (I personally recommend Moonshine Mountain and The Pacific Frontier). Not to mention she hosts the Writeblr Hunger Games rounds!
Plus @lux-scriptum and @fragmentedink have some incredible angel/demon writing, both on their own and together! Hell to Pay is an absolute banger to binge, and Cameron still owns a corner of my heart.
In terms of writing advice and help, any of the ScriptX family does well. I used to be a huge fan of @scriptmedic before she archived, but her posts still help me out.
I've limited myself to ten, but pretty much anybody you see me reblogging from regularly is a good go to! I have taste.
#writeblr#writerblr#writers of tumblr#writers#anonymous#incandescently answered#DON'T FEEL BAD IF I LEFT YOU OUT. I LOVE YOU TOO.

I don’t have a tumblr account to comment, but to the previous ask who wanted a UK based lawyer, the ScriptX family is probably your best bet. They do have lawyers that give advice for writing!
The ScriptX lawyer blog hasn't been updated since 2017, which is why I didn't bring it up. However, I suppose Anon could read through old posts to see if their question is answered. I haven't been able to locate a ScriptX family list of blogs more recent than 2017, also, so if anyone has a link to an updated (2020/2021) list, please let me know!

Dear Neurodivergent Community, Do You Want To Run A Blog With Me?
As I writer, I’ve found the scriptx family on here to be very useful, but I noticed they don’t have a blog for how to write neurodivergent characters
I reached out to them and they sent me a form to fill out to join the family, but I can’t run a blog like that alone
I am looking for other neurodivergent people who know their neurodivergency well, not only from their own experience, but research as well
Here is a link to what being part of the scriptx family entails, please check it out
Message me if you are interested
If you aren’t interested or feel you aren’t prepared to run a blog like this, but still want to help, please reblog this and help get the word out there
Thank you!

WE WANT YOU
Do you identify as somewhere in the LGBTQ+ spectrum? Are you an ally who’s done quite a bit of research? Do you have weirdly specific knowledge about gay men in the year 1578 (or any other group, or any other year)? Do you like to write or help people write? Do you have any other knowledge you think we could benefit from?
If at least one of those things resonates with you, we would LOVE to have you work as a consultant and/or moderator for scriptlgbt and be a part of the ScriptX family. We would require you to be able to respond to 3-5 asks a week (much less scary than it sounds, promise!), work reasonably well in English, and work reasonably well in a team.
We are, in particular, looking for mods who are or have a lot of knowledge about being gay or lesbian, trans, genderfluid, non-binary, bi, pan, and/or experiencing sexual attraction. Anyone with particular knowledge about being LGBTQ+ within the confines of any specific other identities, religion, culture, or career is also particularly needed, though we welcome all applications and, while we will put emphasis on those meeting the needs of our moderator and consultant groups, your application will absolutely be considered no matter what.
You can apply by filling out this survey: https://goo.gl/forms/r6BGhgAD4eM43jap1
Hope to see you soon! -The ScriptLGBT Fam

Writing Advice; a resource list
Hey! Recently I’ve noticed an uptick in outsourced writing advice on Tumblr, whether this is just on my feed or not, I thought I would put up a good list of writing advice and reference blogs on Tumblr.
https://scriptautistic.tumblr.com/post/169184357621/the-scriptx-family-as-of-01012018
A complete list of the current Script Family. All well moderated, with in-depth, informed advice, with over 20 members on a variety of subjects.
https://scriptmedic.tumblr.com/thescriptxfamily
Previously complete list of the script family, however! This also includes a list of the friends of the Script Family, all excellent writing advice blogs. Including, @howtofightwrite and, @writingwithcolor
There’s also a rather lacking number of resources for writing fanfiction, which is a genre all it’s own. While normal writing reference blogs and advice do great, sometimes fanfiction comes with it’s own special brand of issues.
https://writingtipsff.tumblr.com/
A blog dedicated to the reblogging of all the advice they can get their hands on, usually pertaining and in reference to fanfiction.
https://lets-get-fictional.tumblr.com/
A great mix of writing, editing, and characterization advice. Usually focusing specifically on fanfiction, but not always!
https://randomfanficwritingtips.tumblr.com/
Primarily an ask blog, great resource for reference, and any specific questions you may have.
I hope this helpful, good luck in your endeavors!
P.S. any additional writing advice blog suggestions are welcome!

I'd like to thank you for being the sole surviving member of the Script family 👍 so thanks, ur blog is great :)
Thank you :) I’m not quite the ‘sole surviving member’ though. This list is still pretty accurate (though obviously ScriptMedic is no longer active):
https://scriptautistic.tumblr.com/post/169184357621/the-scriptx-family-as-of-01012018
For the record I plan to stick around as long as I can.

Please Pardon Our Dust
Hey there! At the request of @scriptmedic and former mod Splat, I have agreed to take over ScriptFeature. Today I’ll be making adjustments (e.g. updating the ScriptFam list and “meet the mod” pages) and so just to warn you, things will shift around a bit - not to worry though, it’ll get sorted out soon! In particular, I wanted to warn people I’m trying to wrangle the ScriptX Family list (such as trying to organize it into Active, Hiatus, and Archived, for one), so that page especially is gonna be a mess for a while today because if it’s one thing I’ve learned from being on tumblr it’s you NEVER don’t save your work, but it’s a long list so I’m having to take it in stages, heh. - Vorpalgirl

If you find the masterpost of scriptx people,c an you reblog it? I can't seem to find it. Thanks!
I found a masterpost.
It’s clearly not current, and even scriptmedical is archived (the blog I found it through).
Searching “script family” will find you more blogs.
But that should get you started for now.

Hi! I was wondering if you had any related blogs you recommend? Thanks!
Hi Anon!
I follow tags related to filmmaking more so than individual blogs. That being said, some blogs I follow that update regularly are:
For Screenwriting:
@gideonsway - Articles!
ScriptX family - a group of blogs dedicated to answering writing related questions
@writing-prompt-s - prompts
For film recommendations and screencaps:
@criterionfilms
@doyouevenfilm
Misc:
@clientsfromhell - for funny and relatable stories from graphic designers
@pdproblems - for bts, tips and tricks, and spotlights on lesser-known-but-insanely-talented filmmakers, and that #realtalk about filmmaking/production design
@fuckyeahwomenfilmdirectors
@noonecarespat - animation!
@kubrickking - aesthetic inspiration + film stills
All these blogs are great and y’all should follow them.

Hello there! I'm working on a story that is based off of the events that take place in the book of Revelation, but it does not take place in this world. I want to write it in a new world because I feel like if I write it based off of this world then I have to be mindful of everything I write and not get my facts wrong. Would this mean I would have to create a new religion based on Christianity in order to help the story continue?
Well, that depends on what exactly is happening with your story. XD;; It also depends on whether or not I’ve understood your question correctly.
The Book of Revelation is commonly interpreted as being a prophecy of the End Times and allegorical in nature. Perhaps, in your story, there’s a race of aliens on another planet who have such a story in their Holy Book, and in your story it comes to pass, but it’s all happening to aliens on another planet rather than to human beings on Earth. You want to do it this way because then you can just make up a bunch of details about aliens as opposed to having to do a lot of research about humans. That way you can’t possibly get anything wrong. However, that begs the question of whether or not you need to give the aliens a religion to go with their Holy Book. If I’ve indeed understood your question correctly, then my answer is: yes, probably? If the prophecy is in their Holy Book, then you need some context in which the book is Holy and taken very seriously, ta-yada ta-yada. Then again, maybe this prophetic text exists in some other context other than religious; maybe someone wrote everything down and sent it back in time via time machine. Hence the “probably.”
Which is why–and I hope you’ll forgive me if I’m stepping over a line here–if the reason you’re wanting to put this in an off-world setting is that you’re afraid of getting something wrong, then I gently invite you to do what scares you. This is perhaps impolitic for a member of the ScriptX family to say, given that we’re here to help you Get The Facts Right, but you don’t have to get all the facts right all the time. I write Hannibal fanfiction, and do you know what I’ve learned in the course of writing Hannibal fanfiction? That Wolf Trap, Virginia is actually a rich suburb of D.C., and that there are no sea cliffs on the East Coast. I assume these facts were sacrificed for the sake of the #aesthetic, which is totally acceptable except for how it makes writing fanfiction that much harder.**
Discomfort is–up to a point, of course–an opportunity for personal growth. Mistakes are opportunities for growth as well. You can spend a lot of time building a religion for your aliens to believe in so that they can have a Book of Revelation, and that’s fine if that’s what you want to do and what you enjoy doing. If your goal is to tell a story, then try not to get lost writing appendices.
But maybe I’ve misunderstood your question all along and you’re not planning anything like that at all; maybe you’re going to do something like tell a story about an early mammal version of John of Patmos who gets beamed up onto a cloud and watches as the Four Dinosaurs of the Apocalypse ravage the planet and a nearby Mosasaurus waits to devour the child birthed by a shark-woman clothed in the sun. If that’s the case, then I think your readers can just roll with it and you don’t need to explain it.
Further reading: Apocamon; I suppose I could also put Tim LaHaye’s Left Behind books here, but I’m honestly not sure I’d recommend them
Hope that helps!
**Also, how does Hannibal have time for everything that he does? Is he a wizard? Does he have a Time Turner?
